MENTORING
The
vision of all 100 Black Men of
America chapters, both
nationally and
internationally, is to be the
premier mentoring organization
in the world! Through
mentoring, tomorrow's future
is secured by encouraging
today's youth to be healthy,
educated, and contributing
members of our society.
It is vital to instill a sense
of cultural pride,
self-confidence, and
competence into our younger
generation. In the 100
Black Men of North Metro
Chapter, we provide mentoring
to youth through a series of
projects servicing ages 7
through 21. Each project
utilizes a life skills
curriculum that promotes
self-discipline and respect,
educational excellence and
achievement, as well as
personal responsibility and
career exposure. The Men
of Tomorrow and Freshman
Mentoring programs are
examples of the North Metro
Chapter's mentoring
projects. go

EDUCATION
The
100 believes that education is
the key to opportunity and
success. For this
reason, we promote educational
excellence and are committed
to the encouragement of young
people to thrive in this area
of their lives. Reaching
out into our communities, we
provide scholarships and
numerous tutoring programs
while members take an active
role in primary and secondary
education. Education is
key to self-empowerment and
self-esteem. The
"100" believes that
all children can learn given
the proper resources and
commitment from their parents
and teachers. When
children are stimulated,
motivated and provided a
strong support system, they
can succeed. And we know their
success ultimately leads to a
stronger and brighter future
for our communities and our
nation. go

HEALTH
AND WELLNESS
Health
and Wellness is a vital
component of a thriving
community. The purpose
of the 100's Health &
Wellness program is to raise
the awareness levels
concerning healthcare issues
in the African American
community. To achieve
such awareness, the North
Metro Chapter partners with
various organizations to
promote a variety of health
and wellness issues such as
health screenings, drug and
HIV/AIDS prevention, teen
pregnancy prevention, Diabetes
and Prostate Cancer awareness. Targeted health issues for the
100 also include physical
exercise, nutrition and
childhood obesity, which are
all significant to the overall
health and wellness of
families and
communities. go

ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT
The
North Metro 100 chapter aims
to develop programs that
address the economic
underdevelopment of the
African American community -
programs designed to promote
savings, home ownership and
entrepreneurship. Our
goal is to instill positive
economic values in young
people and encourage adults to
realize their full economic
potential.
