The 100 Black
Men of North Metro, Inc. has been fulfilling
its mission to serve since June of 1992 as the
27th chapter of the 100 Black Men of America,
Inc. We service Cobb, North Fulton and
Gwinnett counties. Our organization
believes that children become what they see;
therefore, we strive to provide a positive
influence and role model to all of the youth
that we serve. To date, we are serving
over 400 youth annually through two community
mentoring programs and six schools.
2009 was an exciting year for us. We transitioned
leadership and are continuing to build on the
solid foundation left by our prior President,
Brother Keith Dennis. One of our largest
accomplishments the year was the launching of
our flagship Men of Tomorrow mentoring program
in Gwinnett county. Thanks to our
partnership with both the Mableton and
Lawrenceville Boys & Girls Clubs, we have
extended our mentoring capabilities into the
communities where our mentees reside.
Additionally, we have established a
partnership with Neighbor to Family (NTF). |

| NTF
is a foster care agency that contributes to a
better society by supporting the family unit
with focused programs to keep siblings
together while in foster care. 50% of
the mentees in our Gwinnett MOT mentoring
program are in foster care. We are
thrilled that we have been able to partner
with NTF to provide additional positive impact
to the lives of these mentees.
Our chapter theme this year is
"Empowering Our Youth To Do Great
Things". Our members are dedicating
themselves to this ideal of empowerment to
help our youth attain their goals and become
successful leaders in their own right. We
presently have a 100% high school graduation
rate for all mentees that are in the program
for two or more years. We would like to
extend this graduation rate to the college
ranks where we have approximately 18 mentees
in various schools across the country such as
Howard, Yale, Mercer, Tuskegee, Gilford
College, Georgia State and many other fine
colleges and universities.
I would like to say thank you to our members,
community partners and corporate sponsors and
ask for your continued support with our
mission. We still have much work to
do. The education process of our youth
continues to be a challenge and we are seeing
a decrease in the number of students in
certain demographics that are able to attend
college. As President, we will continue
our effort to aid and educate our mentees to
the best of our abilities. I consider my
role to be a privilege and look forward to
working with you in the future.
Sincerely,

Chairman and President
100 Black Men of North Metro, Inc.
